Beautiful hand-made ashtray bowl with large cradle rests that can accommodate any size cigar or smoke.
Triple cased with uniform dark cherry red, a thin layer of white, and intense black. This was made in the 1940s – 1950s. The black colored glass is actually very, very dark red. Vintage black glass was achieved by using intense reds or purples. The quality vintage glass is extra reflective and the images show a reflection of the light tent. The the outer onyx layer is solid deep space black. And the deep cherry red is solid also, the lighter areas in the images are reflections.
It’s a hefty bowl weighing 2 lbs. Measures 5″ wide and 3″ tall. Deep, oversized cradle rests. Made by the infamous mid-century modernist glass blowers in Murano, Italy.
