In the mid-20th century Hull Potteries created popular art ceramics here in the USA. These beautiful, well preserved ashtrays are lovely examples of the famous brown drip glaze and leaping deer decor fad.
Well designed ashtrays with 1 3/8″ deep well to capture and retain the debris. Features nine cigar-size rests, also good for smaller smokes. Wide ledge allows for balancing the resting smoke above the well and provides a good hand-grip. Each measure 8″ round, 1 3/4″ tall, and weigh 1 1/2 lbs.
One is n perfect condition and is marked ‘Hull USA’ on the seat. The other’s seat has been obscured, as seen in image 5 below, and the mark is not visible. Otherwise it is in perfect condition. Glaze is bright and clean, no chips or cracks.
