Set of three ‘High Topper’ smoking ashtray and accessory by Fostoria Glass. Made between 1940 and 1958. In the famous ‘American’ pattern.
Quality crystal by one of America’s favorite elegant glass makers of the mid-20th century.
Set Includes (1) small (Fostoria part number SS334) Topper hat for snuffer, matchsticks or other paraphernalia; (1) medium High Topper hat (SS336), 3″ tall, for holding cigarettes, etc.; and (1) 4″ tall High Topper (SS337) for cigars, etc.. These beauties offer mixing and matching of uses. Larger Toppers can be used as a vase, Herb holder, candle holder, etc.
Note: Remove any metal part of modern candle before using with vintage glass.
Large High Topper has a faint hint of purple, caused by exposure to Ultra-Violet light over many, many years. It’s a bit ‘Sun Purple’. Sun Purple, if attained naturally, is not damaged. The large Topper has a ‘pipe knocker’ chigger sized chip on the rim. The chigger is smooth with age and visible if looked for. The other two are in like-new condition.
