Magnificent nautical wheel shaped ashtray in ‘Thistle’ amethyst glass. The light grape amethyst color, called ‘Thistle’ by Viking Art Glass, was produced for three years only. Very rare today.
Largest of the ‘Pilot’ line, Viking catalog part no. 773. Viking was referring to the nautical type pilot since this ashtray resembles a ship’s wheel.
Big ashtray. Bowl measures 8″ wide, 10″ wide from rest to rest, and 2.25″ tall. Weighs 3.5 lbs.Scarce item, especially in this color. Each spoke is a large cradle rest, fits cigars and smaller. Great for incense too. Cigar in image is 5½” long.
