Description
Beautiful Mid-Century German Pottery Glazed Ashtray
Ashtray in Mid-Century German pottery. Glazed by hand and truly beautiful. Marked on the base “West Germany – 743”.
The glaze has an iridescent sheen, casting a golden glow on the ashtray. Wonderful, neutral forest colors.
Classic Mid-20th Century kidney bean shape. Deep slanting bowl and four 1″ wide cradle rests, accommodates all sizes of smokes. Measures 9.5″ long, 6″ wide and 2″ tall.
In near perfect condition. This ashtray has what is known as a “makers miss”. It cannot be seen unless looked for. A very small section of one rest missed the brown glaze somehow, but the gold appears and blends right in. You can see it in the upper left corner of image 1 and in image 3. No other problems. Glaze is in like-new condition.
Perfect for the man cave or wooded garden.
