Description
Molten Uranium art glass ashtray by Livio Seguso, circa 1970s.
Mesmerizing neon yellow ‘vaseline’ color was achieved by adding Uranium to the batch. The Uranium is locked inside the glass and is not dangerous to health. Just don’t eat it. lol. Under black-light, it literally ‘lights up’ in bright green.
Livio Seguso is a modern descendant of the timeless Seguso family of glass masters from Italy. Their craft has been passed down from father to son for 22 generations, beginning in 1397.
Hand-made solid block of glass with free-form hot worked rim. Measures 4.25″ square, 2″ tall. Weighs 2½ lbs. The single rest is camouflaged within the rim. It’s large enough for a cigar. Special ashtray…very rare.
