Description
Golden amber vintage glass ashtray by Imperial Glass/Lenox made in the early 1980s.
Beautiful color glitters with hues of opal blues and purple in bright light. Deep intaglio decor of a flying goose or duck with a star-burst like pattern on the ledge and 16 diagonal rests. The slant of the rest allows for multiple smokes to sit without bumping into each other. Nice design. Fits cigarettes or smaller, good for incense sticks too.
Pressed into the seat is the early 1980s ALIG mark. Reference material states: 1981- Transfer of Ownership from Lenox to Arthur Lorch was June 1, 1981. The last date the ‘LIG’ could be used was June 26, 1981, according to the sales agreement. Items produced that day were marked with the ‘LIG’, dated 6-26-81 and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Lucile Kennedy. Two items produced that day were the ‘Minuet Girl’ (former Heisey mould) and the ‘Dresden Doll’ (former Cambridge mould). The ‘ALIG’ mark was in use until September 1983.
Measures 7½ round, 1.25″ tall. Weighs just over 2 lbs.
