House of Representatives ashtray Set made by Fostoria Glass circa 1960 – 1967. Fostoria Glass was an American glassmaker in business from the late 1800s until the late 1980s.
High quality, thick glass. Fostoria had a contract with the government to provide glass items. They made ashtrays in many styles, forms and colors to provide for the smoker’s in the Senate and House of Representatives. Personal sized ashtrays like these would be placed at each Representative seat at meetings.
The crystal ashtray has the House of Representative seal acid etched on the seat. The olive green ashtray is acid etched with an image of George Washington and the Liberty Bell. Made of thick quality glass. Four deep level rests. Weigh a bit over 1/2lb each. Measure 3.75 inches long and 3 inches wide. Both in excellent, original condition.
