High quality lead crystal ashtray made in what was them part of Germany during the WWII occupation of Czechoslovakia or Poland. Supreme quality made for export.
Features three level 1/2″ wide slots. Measures 5″ round and 1.75″ tall. Weighs 2.2 lbs (real lead crystal is very heavy). It’s pressed cyrstal, not cut. The florals running along the side of the ashtray were etched by hand. The glassmakers of the occupied countries were formed into state-owned (German) combines, producing according to the will of the conquerors. Germany wanted only the best for their exports to impress the rest of the world. This ashtray certainly is impressive.
The crystal picks up colors from its surroundings and reflects in bright colorful glitters. Beautiful, useable ashtray. Handwash only.
