Old world charm from one of the oldest seaside villas in Sestri Levante
Vintage porcelain ashtray from the Grand Hotel Villa Balbi in Sestri Levante, Italy. From the 1940s-1950s, marked by Italian maker “Maracr Rep. S. Marino -V-” The Balbi was built in the early 17th century for the Brignole doges of Genoa. In 1947 the palazzo morphed into a grand seaside pleasure dome hotel villa. This ashtray once belonged in the hotel.
Small table-top ashtray, perfect for that little smoke. Measures 4.5″ wide. Decor is known as Majolica. Beautiful ring of flowers encircle the Brignole family coat of arms. The decor is still bright and beautiful.
