Vintage ironstone cigar ashtray with 3 fat cigar rests and deep well. Shaped like an arena with a guitar slinging bullfighter decor that represents a bottle of Tio Pepe, a famous Spanish wine by Gonzalez Byass. Gonzalez Byass winery is located in Jerez, Spain doing business since 1835.
Signed on the base; Pontesa Ironstone, Spain. Circa 1950 – 1970. The white glaze on the seat has some age crazing. Dual ‘tic’ marks on seat are left by the potter’s tool. Measures 6″ round and 2″ tall. 6 inch cigar shown in images. Weighs 1 lb.
