Eames Era Hyalyn Porcelain Fly Fishing Enthusiast Ashtray

Perfect for the fishing cabin decor.

Lures are called; McGinty, Professor, Jock Scot, Parmacheen Belle, Queen of Waters, Montreal, Silver Doctor, and Royal Coachman. They are hand-painted in colorful enamel over the white porcelain glaze.

Hyalyn Porcelain was founded by Leslie Moody in 1947 in Hickory, North Carolina. Until the mid 1970s, Hyalyn pieces were high-fired with a white body. They often show the influence of Charles and Ray Eames and other designers of the Mid-Century Modern period. The factory was closed in 1996.

This ashtray pre-dates 1970, probably from the 1950s. Will rest cigars, cigarettes and smaller. Big and beautiful. Measures 7.25″ square, 1″ tall.

Items shown in the Big Ashtray Museum are not for sale. Big Ashtray offers a large selection of antique, vintage and retro art ashtrays, plus modern-made ashtrays, for sale in the Big Ashtray shop. Click here to view available items…
