Mid-Century Modern cigar ashtray bowl made in the 1950’s-1960’s by Viking Art Glass
Handsome vintage cigar ashtray bowl, shown in old Viking Art Glass catalogs as Ashtray #27. Large and deep cigar bowl in olive green top-quality vintage crackle glass. Nice masculine color.
Made by hand in the 1950’s to 1960’s by Viking Art Glass, a long-lived American glass maker which ceased business in the 1970’s. The molten glass was poured into a mold, cooled slightly then immersed in water to achieve the crackle. The large cradle smoke rests were made by hand tool.
Big cigar ashtray bowl measures 7.5″ wide and 2.75″ tall, weighs 3 lbs. Sits on a raised polished rim. The rests are fat and made for cigars, but work for cigarettes, smaller smokes or incense.
