Description
Antique hand-cut high-quality colored Bohemian crystal ashtray.
This beautiful relic was made of fine quality crystal and looks like a brilliant pink sapphire. It was cut and polished by hand. Produced in the late 1920s to mid 1930s.
Designed by Heinrich Hoffmann, a German (Czech) mold-maker and proprietor of a bead shop in Paris in the 1920s. While in Paris, Hoffmann met a gentlemen named Rene Lalique (today Lalique’s art glass sells at the extreme high-end). Hoffmann’s association with Lalique influenced his jewel-like crystal forms and other glass works.
Measures 3.25″ wide on three sides and 1″ tall. Fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, looks and feels like a jewel. Weighs 1 lb.
