Description
Blenko Art Glass is famous for their huge glass items made in West Virginia, USA from the 1940s to 1980s. This beautiful golden amber ashtray is big (see image one), but is considered ‘medium’ size for Blenko.
This is Blenko’s part no. 697M (‘M’ stands for medium”) designed in 1969. This size fits neatly inside Blenko’s giant 697L. The medium size offered here measures 8½” round, 1½” tall. Weighs 2½ lbs.
Solid, hand-made glowing amber glass. The color lightens and darkens with the thickness of the glass and the lighting. Pressed waffle pattern is raised on the base and smooth on the ash surface with inner portion of waffles slightly concave. Concave areas on ash surface are useful in extinguishing smokes. Waffle base elevates the ashtray above the surface.
