Large blue leaf ashtray with copper inclusions from Barovier & Toso, Italy.
This leaf bowl form was designed by Barovier & Toso, a Murano Italy glasshouse established in 1936. Chief designer Ercole Barovier created many well known designs. This form is shown in 20th Century Art Glass Glass Encyclopedia in ‘Zebrati’ gold leaf. The company made the same form in many different decor styles.
Big and beautiful in a dark fluid blue with Bullicante bubbles on the exterior and copper splashed inclusions on the interior. Multi-rests include 4 deep V-Rests and 4 wide cradle rests to accommodate all sizes of smokes and works perfect as a pipe rest too. Deep bowl to catch and retain debris.
Thick, luscious vintage glass made by the hand of a skilled Italian glass blower. Weighs & almost 2 lbs and measures 7″ x 7″, 3″ deep. Polished flat base. Luxurious ashtray looks stunning in the light and serves as a decor focal point when not in ash service. Can also double as a service bowl. In excellent condition.
