Rich and beautiful antique Venetian glass ashtray hand-made in 1940’s Italy.
Laden with real gold flake trapped between layers of colorless and amber glass. This stunning antique Venetian glass ashtray was crafted by an Italian artisan of great skill. It is unsigned. The colorless glass is consistent with Italian cristallo. Light yet appropriate bottom-wear still exists beneath the felt protectors. The felt protectors were added many years ago (aged felt) and have spared the polished base of heavy bottom-wear.
Looks like a molten glob of gold frozen in time. Formed by hand-tool by a master of the craft from furnace heated quality glass of yesteryear. Thick high quality glass as expected from antique Venetian glass. Some trapped air bubbles within the glass resulting from the hand-made process. Weighs 1.5 lbs. Measures 5″ long, 4.5″ wide and 2.5″ tall. Nice deep bowl. In excellent condition.
