Hard to find retro Swedish modern ashtray set in black lustre from the 1970s.
Made by Anchor Hocking (USA), part no. 152/6460, listed in 1970 catalog. Anchor Hocking called these ashtrays ‘Swedish Modern’.
The organic, nature inspired, ‘Swedish Modern’ decor style was made popular in the mid-20th Century by glass artists in Sweden. The style was duplicated all over the world.
Good mid-size ashtrays with deep bowl and three rests for cigarettes or smaller. The rests vary in length and are deep, giving good support. Measures 6½” long, 1½” tall and 5″ at widest. Each weigh just over 1 lb.
The lustre smoke black color is slightly iridescent providing a nice sheen glow. Stack-able. Both in great condition.
