Description
Retro Modern Designer Ashtray from the 1960’s by Georges Briard
Large retro modern ashtray by infamous Mid-20th Century designer Georges Briard, born 1917, passed on in 2005. Signed in gold on lower right corner.
Beautiful for the garden, patio ashtray with retro stylized lemon tree and gold gilt decor. Large ashtray with 12 wide and long cradle rests accommodates any size of smoke.
Appears to be unused, all decor is as bright as the day it was made. The gold trim running along the outside edges shows some age, small crackling in a couple of areas. Not visible unless examined closely.
Made of slumped glass with enamel decor. Measures 10″ square, 1″ tall. Dark areas on gold are caused by light reflection. Example; leaves falling from tree are gold, not black. More gold decor is laced on tree, planter and fallen lemon.
