Vintage Swedish crystal ranks among the finest in the world and Orrefors is still one of the premier glass makers in Sweden. This lovely crystal ashtray is signed by hand-etch on the base. Made in the 1960’s.
Extreme high clarity crystal made with lead. Contrary to rumor, the lead in the glass recipe will not hurt you…unless you eat it. Real leaded glass (crystal) is rarely made today as most metals once used in glass recipes have been replaced with polymers due to the high cost of materials and energy. The quality of this crystal ashtray can be seen in the images. Notice how it picks up the colors of nearby objects.
It’s in perfect condition with light bottom-wear. Measures 5 round and weighs 1 lb. Five rests accommodate cigarettes and smaller smokes. Beautiful crystal ashtray doubles as a candle holder when not in ash service.
