Made in New Martinsville, West Virginia for the Magnolia Yacht Club by New Martinsville Glass Co in 1953, located in the same city.
High quality vintage crystal nautical form ashtray with six extended cradle rests. Etched in center of bowl are the words: “Magnolia Yacht Club 1953”. This was either purchased, gifted, or absconded with by a patron of the yacht club. Below is an excerpt from Wetzel Chronicle 2012:
Fifty years ago, the center of the social life in New Martinsville was the Magnolia Yacht Club, site of the New Martinsville Regatta, the Regatta Ball, and Mr. Lee’s famous key lime pie. Over time, activities shifted, the club closed, and then went through several business ventures. Now, a local man is trying to revive the Magnolia Yacht Club as people remember it.
Measures 5.25″ round and 1.25″ tall. In perfect condition.
