Mid 20th Century mod decor clam shell designed to be an ashtray or vase.
Made in the late 1950s to early 1960s in Murano Italy, designed by master Fratelli Toso. Has TWO polished flat bases. It can sit up as a vase or catch-all, or it can sit on the side and become an ashtray complete with two rests.
Hand blown in triple cased glass; first layer is yellow, second is white and the final layer is clear. Design and maker is documented. Beautiful, interesting and useful glass form. Measures 8″ long, 4″ wide and 4″ tall. Weighs 2 lbs.
