Description
Vintage bowling smoke set over 60 years and like-new.
There once was a time when everyone smoked in the bowling alley. Sounds strange today. Here’s some fun relics from the 1930s-1950s.
The bowling memorabilia ashtray is from Circle Lanes, a Brunswick bowling alley in Colorado Springs. It says ‘We give every consideration to our bowlers’ and shows a cartoon bowler with a ‘aiming sight’ on his bowling ball. The matches (5 books) are older than the ashtray and have never been used. They are from the Bowl-Mor Lanes in Colorado Springs with a telephone number ‘4-8876’. The number goes back to the days when operators used to connect our calls. The matches are in pristine condition. Bowl-Mor Lanes was a member of the Bowling Proprietors Association of America established in 1932.
In good condition. The ashtray decor was enameled to the seat. There are a few tiny pin-prick holes in the orange area which can be seen when held to the light. Decor is still bright and whole. Ashtray measures 3½” square. Match books are in perfect condition, none used, no signs of age.
Items shown in the Big Ashtray Museum are not for sale. Big Ashtray offers a large selection of antique, vintage and retro art ashtrays, plus modern-made ashtrays, for sale in the Big Ashtray shop. Click here to view available items…
