Large deep ashtray for cigar smokers.
Described as an ‘Executive Ashtray man-sized conversation piece’ on page 9 of the 1960 Maddux catalog. This big, beautiful retro modern dark earthy green art pottery ashtray is 50 years old. It is in great condition with no damage.
Marked ‘Made in USA – 731 – Maddux Calif.’ on the base. Bill Maddux began creating pottery in the 1930s and closed his operation in 1966. Maddux marked pottery appeared on the market by successors until 1980.
Plenty of room for all your smoking friends with a deep bowl and 6 flat cigar-size or smaller rests.. Measures 11½” long on each of three sides and is 2½” deep.
Great for the smoking balcony or smoking lounge. Hand-made in the days when ashtrays were used as coffee-table centerpieces.
