Description
Hand-formed mid-century art glass wide ledge bowl by Blenko.
Blenko’s original part no. 6023. This form was the 23rd design developed in 1960 and was produced until late 1960s. The fiery color was called ‘Tangerine’.
The wide, flat ledge provides rest for cigars, cigs and incense. Doubles as a catch-all or table decor when not in ash service. Beautiful color reflection looks like fire. Hand-pressed into a slump mold with texture on the exterior and a smooth interior. The glass has ‘straw marks’ and trapped interior bubbles inherent to Blenko’s hand-made glass. Straw marks are caused during the cooling process. This bowl has a straw mark running through the center of the bowl and numerous trapped bubbles. In original condition. Hefty, weighs 4 lbs. Measures 8″ long, 7″ wide, and 1½” tall.
