Exotic oriental deep bowl ashtray with real gold and turquoise enamel decor.
This beautiful porcelain ash bowl was decorated with real gold swirls surrounded by raised tiny dots of turquoise enamel on matte black background and burgundy trim. The decoration was applied by hand. Eames era modernist oriental design.
Made in China or Japan. Maker’s mark is on the base. We estimate its age to be about 50 to 60 years. Extra deep bowl to keep the mess in. Large, slightly slanted rim. Three large rests. Can accommodate cigars. Care should be taken not to extinguish smokes on the decor. Measures 6.5″ wide and 2″ deep.
