Genuine ancient fossil crustation pipe tapper knocker ashtray.
Carved from a single solid petrified sea bed rock. This amazing pipe holder / ashtray has an awesome crustation on it’s tapper and a backbone of some creature running along an edge. It has other smaller inclusions that are most likely fossils also.
Highly polished fossil rock, nice smooth texture. In excellent condition. Made for a pipe with the rest at the pointed end, the knob is the tapper. Also makes an excellent ashtray for anything, including cigars. The tapper is handy for gently knocking ash off without disturbing the “cherry”.
Beautiful decor when not in ash service. Great incense burner too. Measures 9″ long, 4.5″ at widest and 2.25″ tall (from base to top of knocker). Weighs 1.5 lbs.
