Early Haeger Potteries elephant ashtray.
Detailed trumpeting elephant ashtray made by Haeger in the 1940s – 1950s. This beautiful elephant is unsigned but was found with it’s original label which disintegrated during cleaning. Haeger label remnants on one side of the elephant. Very rare. Measures 7″ long, 2½” wide and 5½” tall.
Useful V-shaped rests grab and hold your smoke. Nice deep bowl to catch the ashes. The high-gloss glaze is dark brown with hints of moss green. Inside the bowl is a splash of turquoise blue. The base of the feet were brushed in gold.
