Magnum size cigar ashtray, rare large size from Viking Art Glass. These great ashtrays were made by Viking in the 1960s. They are normally large…but this one is extra large…and very rare.
Weighing in at 5 lbs. This is an ashtray that won’t be knocked around! Plenty of room for paraphernalia, candles and/or incense.Handmade, blown from mold in Viking’s patented ‘Bluenique’ color, a stunning rich dark blue. Crackle glass decor was accomplished by dipping the hot glass into water. Gives it a constant sparkle…like a huge jewel. The cigar rests were formed by hand-tool.
Perfect for the cigar lounge. Commanding in both color and size, this vintage art glass is an automatic focal point. Great ashtray for parties too because it’s so deep with inward curving rims (keeps the mess in) and heavy (doesn’t get pushed around). Made of very thick vintage glass, hard to break.
Viking’s catalog number for the more common 7″ ashtray in this form is #27. This big blue ashtray measures 10″ round, with a girth of 30.5″, stands 3.5″ tall, weighs 5 lbs. We have not found this enormous sized ashtray documented in Viking Art Glass references…but it was certainly made by Viking. Circa 1960s.
