Lures are called; McGinty, Professor, Jock Scot, Parmacheen Belle, Queen of Waters, Montreal, Silver Doctor, and Royal Coachman. They are hand-painted in colorful enamel over the white porcelain glaze.
Hyalyn Porcelain was founded by Leslie Moody in 1947 in Hickory, North Carolina. Until the mid 1970s, Hyalyn pieces were high-fired with a white body. They often show the influence of Charles and Ray Eames and other designers of the Mid-Century Modern period. The factory was closed in 1996.
This ashtray pre-dates 1970, probably from the 1950s. Will rest cigars, cigarettes and smaller. Big and beautiful. Measures 7.25″ square, 1″ tall.
