Vintage Venetian glass golden Topaz free-form ashtray from the elegant days of Sophia Loren.

Watch Sophia’s old movies and you’ll see lots of examples of mid-century elegant Italian glass in the movie sets. The Venetian glass of the mid-20th century was upscale and fancy. An ashtray like this was her style. Beautiful, elegant, memorable.

This old Italian beauty still retains its original label. Label reads: Vetro Artistico Veneziano Handmade Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Italy. Made in the 1950’s to 1960’s. At least 60 years old.

Weighs 1 lb. Measures 4¼” round, 2¼” tall. Nice deep bowl to catch and retain the ash. Rim was hand-formed to provide rests of different sizes. Accommodates all size smokes plus pipe resting. Makes a lovely flower, candy or candle bowl when not in ash service.
